Aviation Career Seminar

We have the next FREE aviation career seminar scheduled for Saturday, April 26th from 9:00 am to 12 noon in the conference room at Executive Airport. At these seminars we have pilots from various stages in their careers talk about why they got into aviation and how they trained to get to their current position. In addition to the speakers, there will be free handouts of career information. If you are thinking of a career in aviation or know someone who might be, call the office to sign up.

Spring Flying

The weather is changing and we're coming into the time of gusty winds, sudden fog and lots of birds. Please check the weather before any flight as the winds can pick up suddenly. Fog can roll in unexpectedly too, so watch for it when flying early in the morning or late in the evening. Check for birds nests under the engine cowling.

Fuel prices

We rent our aircraft at a “wet” rate which includes the price of the fuel. This causes our rates to fluctuate as fuel prices increase or decrease. As you all know from looking at the fuel prices at the gas stations, the fuel costs have risen dramatically in the last month. We raised our rates on most of the aircraft last month, and will hold those rates this month. Hopefully, the fuel prices will not increase as rapidly in the future. You can help us hold the rental rates down by refueling at the fuel pump instead of calling the truck. That saves thirty cents a gallon! As always, if there is ANY reason that you cannot use the fuel pumps, and you are flying any of our single engine aircraft, don't hesitate to call the truck. If you fly the twin, we ask you to use the pumps. If you have a problem fueling the twin at the pumps, get someone from the office to help you.

172RG rates decrease!

N4796V, our 172RG is for sale. The asking price is $75,000. It is very nicely equipped with an STEC autopilot, DME and less than 500 hours on the engine. You can fly it now for $115.00 per hour. It is an excellent cross country airplane with a cruise speed of about 135 knots and a good range. Check out in the plane and see what advantages the fixed gear 172’s big brother offers.

Weekend help needed

We are looking for a few good people - to run the office on Saturday and Sunday. If you are retired and looking for something that is interesting to keep you occupied, we've got the perfect thing for you. If you find weekends boring and can't wait to get back to work on Monday, we'll help you start enjoying them again. The work isn't exceptionally difficult and you meet all sorts of interesting people. Deena will be delighted to train you during the week Give her a call if you are interested.

Ground Schools

We will be starting another private pilot ground school in April. It will be taught two nights a week for about 12 weeks. The cost is $150 for members and $200 for non-members, plus books and supplies which cost about $175.00. If you already have your license, you can audit the course to brush up on your aeronautical knowledge for half price. 300.00 start an instrument ground school as soon as we have enough people signed up. Call the office today.
