New Cessna 172SP on line
We have a new 2001, 180 hp Cessna 172SP on line. It has a leather interior, 2 Axis autopilot with altitude capture and hold, a large moving map display and a Bendix/King GPS. With a 53 gallon usable fuel capacity and a cruise speed of about 120 KTAS, it will be a very comfortable cross country aircraft. The advanced instrumentation will make it an excellent instrument trainer too. You'll need to be a private pilot or better to fly it. Please call the office to schedule a checkout or just drop by to see the plane.

Spring Flying
The weather is changing and we're coming into the time of gusty winds, sudden fog and lots of birds. Please check the weather before any flight as the winds can pick up suddenly. The house finches have started to sing, so be sure to check for birds nests under the engine cowling. They can be a fire hazard if not removed.
Fuel prices
We rent our aircraft at a “wet” rate which includes the price of the fuel. This causes our rates to fluctuate as fuel prices increase or decrease. As you all know from looking at the fuel prices at the gas stations, the fuel costs have risen dramatically in the last month. Hopefully, the fuel prices will not increase as rapidly in the future. You can help us hold the rental rates down by refueling at the fuel pump instead of calling the truck. That saves thirty cents a gallon! As always, if there is ANY reason that you cannot use the fuel pumps, and you are flying any of our single engine aircraft, don't hesitate to call the truck. If you fly the twin, we ask you to use the pumps. If you have a problem fueling the twin at the pumps, get someone from the office to help you.
Ground Schools
We will be starting another private pilot ground school this month. It will be taught two nights a week for about 12 weeks. The cost is $150 for members and $200 for non-members, plus books and supplies which cost about $175.00. If you already have your license, you can audit the course to brush up on your aeronautical knowledge for half price. We'll start an instrument ground school as soon as we have enough people signed up. Call the office today.
Career Seminar
We'll be having another FREE aviation career seminar on Saturday, April 26th at 9:00 am in the conference room at Executive Airport. If you or anyone you know is interested in a career in aviation, call the office to sign up. We'll have pilots talk about how they got where they are in aviation and hand outs on a flying career.
Email addresses
In order to keep our postage costs down, we may go to as much of an on line billing system as possible. We would like to send the statements and newsletter over the Internet. In order to do that, I'll need your email addresses. Please send them to us when you mail in your payments after the next statement, or just send them to me at callaway@execflyers.com. If you I'll have or dI'llwant to use your email address, please let me know that so we can continue to send your statements and newsletter by snail mail.
