Proficiency Seminar for Cessna 172SP electronic equipment

We are going to have two FREE proficiency seminars to introduce you to the electronics in N5101E. They will be on Thursday evening, May 15th from 6-9 pm and Saturday morning, May 17th from 9-11 am in the conference room at Executive Airport. You will be introduced to the operation of the GPS, autopilot and large screen display. Coupons worth $15 toward your one hour checkout in N5101E will be given out at the seminar. Executive Flyers will give you an additional $5 discount on the instructor fee for the checkout. You'll need to be a private pilot or better to fly the plane. Please call the office to sign up for the seminar or to schedule a checkout or just drop by to see the plane. It’s a beauty!

Spring Flying

The house finches have started to sing, so be sure to check for birds nests under the engine cowling.

Fuel prices

The fuel price has been dropping over the last few weeks and is almost back to the level where I set the current rates. If it continues to drop, you will see a decrease in the rental rates! You can help us hold the rates down by refueling at the fuel pump instead of calling the truck. That saves thirty cents a gallon! As always, if there is ANY reason that you cannot use the fuel pumps, and you are flying any of our single engine aircraft, don't hesitate to call the truck. If you fly the twin, we ask you to use the pumps. If you have a problem fueling the twin at the pumps, get someone from the office to help you.

Ground Schools

We will be starting another private pilot ground school in May. It will be taught two nights a week for about 12 weeks. The cost is $150 for members and $200 for non-members, plus books and supplies which cost about $185.00. If you already have your license, you can audit the course to brush up on your aeronautical knowledge for half price. We'll start an instrument ground school as soon as we have enough people signed up. Call the office today.

Memorial Day

The office will be closed on Monday, May 26th for Memorial Day. If you want to fly then, please schedule in advance.

Email addresses, please

In order to keep our postage costs down, we will be going to an on line billing system. We would like to send the statements and newsletter over the Internet. In order to do that, we'll need your email address. Please send it to us when you mail in your payments after the next statement, or just send them to me at callaway@execflyers.com. If you don't want to use your email address, please let me know that so we can continue to send your statements and newsletter by snail mail.

Garmin 430 installed in N2882C

The owner has had a Garmin 430 GPS installed in the twin to make it a better cross country plane. This is the same GPS that is in N1920F and is a joy to operate. Checkout requirements for the twin are Private pilot's license or better; multi-engine rating; instrument rating; 250 hours total logged flight time and 50 logged hours multi-engine time and a checkout by an Executive Flyers instructor. In lieu of the 50 hours multi-engine time, 10 hours dual with an Executive Flyers instructor and a checkout.
