182 Checkout and more

If you have been considering checking out in the new glass panel 182, but have not because of the cost, we have some good news for you. For a limited time, the required five hours of ground school will cost $177 and will include the G1000 manual and a C182T POH, which have a retail value of $177. You pay for the manuals and get the instruction free. The required four hours of flight instruction will be billed at the rate of the airplane, no charge for the instruction. In addition to the checkout in the airplane, the training will meet the requirements of a flight review, high performance checkout, and an IPC. In lieu of the flight review, the ground training and flight time could be used to complete a stage of the Wings program. Ground school starts Thursday, Aug 11 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Call the office to sign up.

Executive Flyers Open House

Please mark Saturday, August 20th on your calendar for our open house. We’ll be celebrating our becoming a Cessna Pilot Center and will have two glass panel 182s on display in front of the terminal. We’ll have drawings for a discount on the checkout in the new 182 and for hats, cups and Executive Flyer’s Polo shirts. If you arrive before noon, we’ll give you a ticket worth $3.50 for the breakfast special at the Aviators restaurant which includes three pancakes, two eggs and sausage or bacon. If you haven’t seen our new 172S aircraft, Piper Warrior, the air conditioned Piper Archer or the refurbished Piper Arrow, this will be a good time to take a look at them. We’ll have the simulator for the 182 glass panel running and you’ll have a chance to use it and see how the system works. Our new Cessna Pilot Center programs for the private, instrument rating and commercial license will also be on display and you’ll be able to try out the programs to see the advantage of learning to fly with these programs. All the hoopla aside, this will be a good opportunity to come out and chat with other pilots about flying and the enjoyment we all get from flight. Whether it’s flying to Franklin field in the morning for some touch and goes or going on a long cross country, it’s a kick!
